Before Visiting The Center
Make sure that it is appropriate for you to come for a massage. Please postpone your visit if you have high fever, any known infection, skin irritation, or if you recently underwent surgery.
Drink more water in the days leading up to your appointment. Avoid eating right before your massage (preferably 1 to 3 hours before).
Allow enough time to get to the center. If you are stressed and in a rush, it will take longer for you to calm down and for the massage to begin.
After you arrive at the center, you will be greeted by your therapist. Please share with them everything that you think is important to know about your current condition, including the reason for booking the appointment, whether you live an active lifestyle, and where in the body you feel tension or pain.
Please remember to mention if you have any known allergies, pregnancy, or spinal conditions.
Let your therapist know which part of your body they should focus on during your visit, or if they should avoid certain areas. Everything that you share with your therapist is confidential, so don’t hesitate to discuss any concerns that you might have.
After talking to your therapist, you’ll have several minutes to get comfortable in the room and relax. Take off your clothes and remove any jewelry or watches. Don’t forget to put your phone on silent as well.
Lie down on the massage table and cover your body with the provided sheet or towel. Make sure you are comfortable and let your therapist know in case you aren’t. If you are cold, warm, want an additional cover, you don’t like the music, or feel any discomfort during the massage, feel free to share.
Don’t forget to breathe in order for your body to relax and become saturated with oxygen. Tensing your muscles during the massage is counterproductive.
During the massage, it is quite like likely and very normal for the following to occur:
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Increased bowel function
- Diuresis (increased urine production)
Feel free to ask for a short pause or bathroom break if you experience any of these reactions.
After the massage is finished, your therapist will leave the room. You can lie on the table for a few minutes until you feel ready to get up.
Drink plenty of water after your massage.
Whenever possible, allow yourself some additional downtime after the massage. Don’t return to work or start doing other commitments right away.
Have a good time!
